The Brian Romeiser Scholarship

The Brian Romeiser Scholarship is awarded to 10 aspiring operators to assist with pre-certification training. These programs have successfully helped dozens of new members join the NYWEA family, and to be recognized as an integral part of our efforts to maintain the health and safety of our most precious resource, water!

Brian Romeiser was a certified Grade 4A operator and a long-time member of the Genesee Valley Chapter Board of Directors. He was dedicated to the advancement of operators and encouraged individuals to embark on water resource recovery careers. A thoughtful innovator, Brian initiated a thriving biosolids composting program over three decades ago at the Manchester-Shortsville Joint Sewer District. Using the knowledge gained, he became an indispensable resource, helping other wastewater treatment plants develop their own composting systems. This scholarship is given in the spirit of Brian's unwavering commitment to operators and the wastewater industry.
